Kyanjin Gompa (3870m)
Kyanjin Gompa is home to ancient Buddhist monasteries and a small local cheese factory producing some of the best cheese in the Langtang area. Here, you can learn about the local socio-economic life, interact with the community, and capture memorable photos. It is the last teahouse stop on the short Langtang Trek and an excellent place to explore hidden natural beauty.

Langtang National Park (Buffer Zone)
Established in 1976, Langtang National Park covers 1,710 sq km with a buffer zone of 420 sq km. It conserves rare animals and plants, offering trekkers the chance to explore diverse flora and fauna. Trekking through remote areas like Langtang brings a sense of tranquility and happiness.


Langtang Valley Altitude
This trek varies in altitude, starting from about 1,500 meters (4,921 feet) in Syabrubesi to a high point of 4,984 meters (16,352 feet) at Tserko Ri. Proper acclimatization is crucial to manage the altitude changes effectively and avoid altitude sickness. Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Kathmandu arrival - Welcome Day | (D)

Welcome to Kathmandu! Upon your arrival at the airport, a representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax, recover from your journey, and explore the city at your leisure. Your specialist will brief you on the details of your trip and answer any questions you may have. Enjoy your first evening in Nepal!

Day 2 : Kathmandu City Tour - World Heritage Site recognized by UNESCO | (B)

Kathmandu, city is rich in history and culture, and recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Visit the iconic landmarks of the city, including the historic Durbar Square with its ancient palaces, temples, and bustling bazaars. Explore the intricate architecture of the Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, with its stunning views of the valley. Marvel at the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva and an important pilgrimage site for Hindus. Lastly, visit the impressive Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world and a symbol of peace and harmony.

Day 3 : Kathmandu to Syabrubesi- Syabrubesi | 1550 m / 5085 ft | 7-8 hrs | (B, L, D)

Early departure from Kathmandu to the awe-inspiring Langtang Valley. The road leads through the valley and climbs high over ridges, offering magnificent views of the Annapurna Himalayas in the west, as well as Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and the peaks of the Langtang region ahead.

During the journey, we pass through the bustling town of Trisuli before ascending towards Dunche and Langtang National Park. Upon reaching the town of Dunche, it's another hour of driving downhill until we reach Syabru Besi, where you'll spend the night at a comfortable lodge.

Day 4 : Trek to Lama Hotel- Lama Hotel | 2380 m / 7808 ft | 6 hrs | (B, L, D)

Today's trek begins with a crossing of the Bhote Kosi, also known as the 'Tibet River', which originates from nearby Tibet. The trail then ascends gradually through sub-tropical forests before joining the path from Syabru Besi. As you climb higher, the surroundings change to uninhabited oak and rhododendron forests, where you may spot langur monkeys playing in the trees. Although the ascent through the forest up to Lama Hotel can be steep, the cozy lodge at the small settlement makes for a comfortable resting spot.

Day 5 : Lama Hotel to Mundu via Langtang Village- Mundu | 3430 m / 11253 ft 6 | 7 hrs | (B, L, D)

Continuing along the trail, we are greeted with more stunning views of Langtang Lirung peeking through the trees. After reaching Ghora Tabela, which sits at an altitude of 3,000 meters or 9,842 feet, the forest clears out and the valley opens up with mountains towering on both sides. In the past, a Tibetan resettlement project was established here, but now it is a post for the Nepal Army, with no permanent residents.

As we trek further, the valley continues to widen, and we pass by a few temporary settlements where local herders bring their livestock to graze during the summer months. It is common to spot yaks grazing in the area, which can be a fascinating sight if you have not seen them before.

Sadly, the next part of the trail serves as a haunting reminder of the devastating 2015 earthquake. Where Langtang village once stood, there is now a vast field of rocks. Take a moment to honor the memory of the Nepalis and tourists who lost their lives here and to acknowledge that your journey to the valley supports the survivors of this tragedy.

Mundu is located just half an hour away from here. The old houses in this village offer a glimpse into what all the settlements in this valley once looked like. However, most of the lodges and homes in this area have been built in a more modern style, providing a comfortable place to rest after a day of trekking.

Day 6 : Mundu to Kyanjin Gompa- Kyanjin Gompa | 3870 m / 12696 ft | 3 hrs | (B, L, D)

The trail from Mundu takes you through yak pastures with a gradual climb, allowing for expansive views of the surrounding area. You will cross several small streams and moraines before reaching Kyangjin, a settlement that houses a small monastery and a cheese factory operated by the government. It's a great place to grab lunch and stock up on snacks for the afternoon.

Arriving in Kyangjin by lunchtime leaves plenty of time to relax or explore the area. For the more adventurous, head up the valley towards Langshisha Kharka to take in some breathtaking views.

Day 7 : Kyanjin Gompa to Tserko Ri to Kyanjin Gompa- Tserko Ri | 5000 m / 16404 ft | 8-9 hrs | (B, L, D)

Today, you have the option to take a rest day or to explore the surrounding area. There are a number of things you can do, such as visiting the monastery and cheese factory, taking a walk up the moraine to see the impressive ice faces and glaciers of Langtang Lirung, or ascending Kyangjin Ri directly behind the village for a stunning panoramic view of the Langtang peaks.

Day 8 : Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel- Lama Hotel | 2380 m / 7808 ft | 6-7 hrs | (B, L, D)

Starting from Kyangjin, you will retrace your steps back down the valley, following the Langtang Khola river to Mundu village and then on to Ghora Tabela. The descent is likely to be faster than the ascent. After lunch at Ghora Tabela, you will continue the steep descent to reach Lama Hotel.

Day 9 : Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi- Syabrubesi | 1550 m / 5085 ft | 6-7 hrs | (B, L, D)

The journey continues by retracing the steps back to Syabru Besi, with the opportunity to enjoy the peaceful and forested hills. For those who are up for a challenge, the route from Rimche via Sherpa Gaon to Syabru Besi offers a breathtaking detour, although it takes much longer to reach the final destination.

Day 10 : Syabrubesi to Kathmandu ( Drive )- Kathmandu | 1380 m / 4572 ft 8 | 9 hrs | (B & L)

Return to Kathmandu, either by private vehicle or by public bus. Enjoy the scenic drive through the hills and back to the hustle and bustle of the capital city. Take some time to relax and reflect on your amazing trek in the Langtang Valley.

Day 11 : Departure | (B)

It is time to bid farewell to Nepal. Make the most of your remaining time in Kathmandu by having breakfast at a café, taking a stroll around the city, and/or buying souvenirs. A representative will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the airport for your return flight home. It is recommended to arrive at the airport at least two hours before your departure.
